A wool wrapped soy candle with new colours and a different scent.
It’s getting much closer to Christmas now. Probably time to start panicking a bit as I still have several people to buy Christmas presents for and I’m not sure what to get them. At least I have my crafting and candle making to keep my sanity. This week I’ve been working on a variation of the wool wrapped candle you saw last week. I had some wool that was white with bits of pink, purple and orange. Quite an unusual combination I think, which is why I bought it

I picked out the purple in wool for choosing the scent, so this soy candle has been scented with lavender and cedarwood essential oils. This combination is supposed to be relaxing, which I may need help doing if I don’t finish the Christmas shopping soon. I thought I would add a bit of colour to the wax of this candle so I added a few coloured wax chunks to the top of the candle then heated it with a heat gun, to try to create a marbled effect.
It’s getting very close to the final ordering date for my website, after which I’ll be able to have a little bit of a break before Christmas. Soon after though I have to start planning for Valentine’s Day. I’m starting to feel like one of those big high street stores that has their special occasion stock out far too early. What are you planning to do on your last week before Christmas? Will you be taking things easy or will you be planning, making and working hard all the way up to Christmas day?
Time to take a look at the final Handmade Monday of the year and see what other crafty things have been made this week.

Oohh I bet that smells absolutely gorgeous. I like the idea of the wool echoing the candle colour.
Lavender and cedarwood sounds a lovely combination.
This candle looks amazing. The wool was a great choice and the marbled effect on the top works really well. Enjoy this last week. I hope that you have a really great Christmas (and a well earned rest!)

Great candle as usual, I love the effect on the top, it goes well with the wool. This week I’ll be finishing off some commissions then having a bit of a break then like you I’ll be starting on my Valentines and Easter thingy me bobs. Have a great week.

Ohhh that’s a really pretty candle… I can almost smell it from here! Hope you get the rest of the shopping done before true panic sets in!
The candle colours blend well with the shades of the wool, to create a cosy seasonal feature. I find I relax more if I take time out to create a little something during this hectic time, though your candles look very relaxing too!
